For as weird as it might be, you can still make their quests and romance them even if the dialogue subtitles will refer to them as female. If you use Amorous Adventures (or similar mods) the dialogue is still there because the NPCs are the same even with the opposite sex, but they won’t have any voice files. If you don’t like some of the replacers or want to keep some of the females, you can open the plugin with SSEdit and delete the NPCs you don’t want (and then remove the corresponding nif file). Close the console and they should be back to normal. With the console still open type disable, press enter, then type enable and press enter again. If you notice the dreaded neck seam, try to set the NPC weight from console like this: open the console, point and click on the NPC, then type setnpcweight 100 (or whatever the weight is: 100 for Lydd, Argis, and Jord, 50 for Ian, 70 for Ray and Valdimar, 60 for Gregor, and 30 for Calder) – press enter.
Skyrim male neck seam fix mod#
Might conflict with other mods that change the housecarls appearance, could be fixed by loading my mod last.
Skyrim male neck seam fix install#
Warning: better to install in a game where you haven’t met the housecarls yet or you could have weird things happening like the name doesn’t change, neck seams, or similar. A good skin texture of your choice (I use Tempered Skin for Males).I gave them all the only 2 housecarl voices available (MaleNord and MaleBurte) so they should have all the needed dialogue to perform their duty. I also replaced some of the unique voice files of Rayya with the corresponding MaleNord version. The mod contains the new head and hair mesh and will use any skin and body you have installed in the game (even SOS). Now Lydia, Iona, Jordis, and Rayya have been replaced by their brothers Lydd, Ian, Jord, and Ray. I saw a post in the NexusMods forum where someone asked for a male version of the female housecarls, so I decided to give it a try, and while I was at it I gave a facelift to all the other housecarls.
